Complete Home Consultation

Today we had our Complete Home Consultation at Home options gallery at Norwest....It's basically to finalize our bricks, paints, doors, fittings kitchen, bathroom, tapwares and laundry...We spent about 5 hours there which is pretty quick compared to others who almost took 7 hours to finish....well for those about to do this..it's really helpful to narrow down your options and to do this you have to visit the display centre/showroom a few times....because if you leave it too late then your choice might not be the best one....

Here is the picture of the bricks, roof tiles, claddings and window frames that we've selected. we just stayed with the standard selections although the upgrades really looked nice....the timber garage door will cost at least $1,500...

While here are the selections we made for internal colours. Not too sure about the bathroom laminex oyster linea...i think it's too yellow but hubby wants it...plus our bathroom tiles color is kind of choc-greyish so it will make the room darker and smaller if everything is dark....

The things that we've upgraded are: add flyscreens (price to be quoted), add Interblind to the Laundry door (about $260?), internal feature door on bed 1 only as this is visible to guests, privacy locks on all doors (abt $30 ea), Obscure window glazing on bathrooms, and internal paint upgraded to taubmans living proof silk which is about $1500, added dishwasher $790, and changed the toilet profile which is about $17..so I estimate it will be around $5000 worth of ugrades today....hmmmm....stretching our budget a bit too much??? this does not include electricals and tiles yet....and I really like downlights....but i'm not gonna exagerate on that.....just probably in the kitchen, and corners and hallway....and oh...I forgot, we are also still waiting on quotes for blinds, and the glass splashbacks......

oh well...we're not locked in yet until we sign...

Nov 10 is our electrical and tiles consulation at Di Lorenzo....then we'll get an idea of how much out of pocket expenses we are gonna have......

No more shoes and bags shopping....lol

  1. Hi there,
we also went for internal paint upgrade with EB but now, with settlement due on Friday, we are not confident that the Living Proof Silk paint has been used, let alone 3 coats. In some places I reckon they have done 1 coat!
I was more than happy to pay the $2300 for upgrade (we are 2 storey) but feel that we have been ripped off by painters/EB who use cheaper paints and only do 2 coats.
think carefully about it - we are currently trying to get Taubmans to come and test the paint coverage in our house and if I had my way would not do the upgrade.
    hope that helps.
