Complete Home Consultation

Today we had our Complete Home Consultation at Home options gallery at Norwest....It's basically to finalize our bricks, paints, doors, fittings kitchen, bathroom, tapwares and laundry...We spent about 5 hours there which is pretty quick compared to others who almost took 7 hours to finish....well for those about to do this..it's really helpful to narrow down your options and to do this you have to visit the display centre/showroom a few times....because if you leave it too late then your choice might not be the best one....

Here is the picture of the bricks, roof tiles, claddings and window frames that we've selected. we just stayed with the standard selections although the upgrades really looked nice....the timber garage door will cost at least $1,500...

While here are the selections we made for internal colours. Not too sure about the bathroom laminex oyster linea...i think it's too yellow but hubby wants it...plus our bathroom tiles color is kind of choc-greyish so it will make the room darker and smaller if everything is dark....

The things that we've upgraded are: add flyscreens (price to be quoted), add Interblind to the Laundry door (about $260?), internal feature door on bed 1 only as this is visible to guests, privacy locks on all doors (abt $30 ea), Obscure window glazing on bathrooms, and internal paint upgraded to taubmans living proof silk which is about $1500, added dishwasher $790, and changed the toilet profile which is about $17..so I estimate it will be around $5000 worth of ugrades today....hmmmm....stretching our budget a bit too much??? this does not include electricals and tiles yet....and I really like downlights....but i'm not gonna exagerate on that.....just probably in the kitchen, and corners and hallway....and oh...I forgot, we are also still waiting on quotes for blinds, and the glass splashbacks......

oh well...we're not locked in yet until we sign...

Nov 10 is our electrical and tiles consulation at Di Lorenzo....then we'll get an idea of how much out of pocket expenses we are gonna have......

No more shoes and bags shopping....lol

Our visit to Di Lorenzo...

We went to Di lorenzo today to sort of finalize our choice of tiles, carpet, and ktichen splashback...There's this nice young lady who entertained us...toured us around to show which ones we can choose as part of our package...those with blue dots only..and I tell you..there ain't a lot of them!! There are so many tiles everywhere...It's a bit frustrating how they don't label each area...They should put a sign like you know, this area is for ktichen, this one is for floor tiles...etc..It's like a maze in there..anyway...we've only got 1 weekend left before our Colours appointment so we've decided to finalize everything and not go back there anymore so we don't change our minds...I wished I have taken some photos...We only took note of the description and codes and thought that I may get a better photo if I jsut go to their website...But apparently...it's not there...So it looks like we have to go back again next weekend to take photos...i hope we won;t change our minds again...I'll post photos when I get the chance...

We are now a home-loan owner!!

haaaayyy....finally...after months of waiting...we have been informed today that our home loan is finally approved!!but not really jumping and kicking my feet in the air as interest rates are going up now..thanks to the economy picking up after that global recession...I guess it's a good thing..they said Christmas is cheaper this year! yey! Anyway, we're are waiting for the documents to be signed..then that is it..we will be an official home loan owner!! jeez..I never thought it will happen.....Don't want to think about monthly payments... jsut want to think about what colours to choose...what bricks to lay on the driveway... :) We will be spending the coming weekends choosing and finalizing wall colours, bricks and pavers..... I never looked at houses the way I look at them now..I never noticed the gutters and fascia...their fencing and plants...But now, i stare at them, checking some ideas for our house....It's so exciting!!! i'll put a link to our house design you can see how it looks like...I really like this design...we were choosing between a Clarendon house or Eden brae. Eden brae is much better as they have packages available..it will save you worrying about things like carpet and tiles....Well the choice is limited and usually what's available are very basic..nice ones are upgrades..But it's ok...What's more important is that we got approved and we will have a house soon...Start date is march and it is a 22 week build...so i guess we will be spending our xmas next year in our new house! yey!! Ok, this is my first blog...and I don't want to bore people reading this....I wish to meet people who is new to this building thing...those building with Eden brae esp.those building a Saville...and anyone who could help me in this path we chose...they said it's a headache..but you won't achieve anything if you don;t take the risk...I'll just hope that this will be a fun and exciting experience!! :)
